Priority Partners first started racing in 2004 at the regional level. We started our first season in early April of 2004 at Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia. Summit Point was Washington D.C.’s (our region) home track, where all but two races were held. The better half of the first season was brutal. We had a 60% failure rate with the cars’ mechanics which resulted in a significant loss of driving time for the year. Fortunately, our learning curve was steep but we quickly overcame each setback. The car required many hours of labor over the racing season. We replaced several essential parts and restored the car to race-ready condition. Once the car was reconditioned, we finished the season on a high note winning at Virginia International Raceway and setting a new track record.
We made tremendous progress in mechanical readiness, team organization and budget management. We also set our sites on moving up to the national competition level for the 2005 season in order to take advantage of the tougher competition of the national races. The top ten drivers from each of the eight divisions across the country get invited to the National Championship Runoffs with the winner being crowned National Champion.
