THE DRIVER

Andrew Brenkus took his passion for motor sports and his lifetime dream of competing in motor sports racing, and turned them into reality in early 2004.

In his exploration and pursuit of his dream, Andrew quickly discovered the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). The SCCA is the premier and most competitive amateur road racing organization in the United States. After learning about the SCCA, Andrew enrolled in an SCCA racecar driving school and quickly earned his amateur racing license. Upon comp.letion of the SCCA racecar driving school, he quickly realized that his next step was clear: he needed a racecar.

After a few months of research, Andrew chose to purchase a Formula 500 class racecar. The Formula 500 class is widely regarded as an extremely competative and affordable class of racing offering exceptionally high performance cars and tight regulations which help keep costs to a minimum.

In 2004, Andrew successfully completed his rookie year on the regional Formula 500 race circuit. Within a year, Andrew moved up to competeing almost exclusively in the Formula 500 national race circuit. A Top-10 finish (8th place) at the SCCA Formula 500 National Championship Runoffs (2005), along with a new track speed record at the Virginian International Raceway, has fueled continued speculation that Andrew was has indeed found his true life's calling. One thing is for sure, no matter what, Andrew's passion for the sport has earned him the support and admiration of many friends, family and collegues.

NOTE: The SCCA Nationals were broadcast on the SPEED Channel in December 2005.
